GRIFFIN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to establishing crime victim and trauma survivor recovery centers throughout the state; and making an appropriation therefor THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Article 5 of the social services law is amended by adding a new title 12-B to read as follows: TITLE 12-B CRIME VICTIM AND TRAUMA SURVIVOR RECOVERY CENTERS SECTION 370-E. CRIME VICTIM AND TRAUMA SURVIVOR RECOVERY CENTERS. § 370-E. CRIME VICTIM AND TRAUMA SURVIVOR RECOVERY CENTERS. 1. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL FACILITATE THE DEVELOPMENT AND ESTABLISHMENT OF, AND DESIGNATE, FIVE REGIONAL CRIME VICTIM AND TRAUMA SURVIVOR RECOVERY CENTERS ACROSS THE STATE. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL ESTABLISH PROCEDURES AND CRITERIA FOR THE DESIGNATION OF SUCH CENTERS ENSURING GEOGRAPHIC COVER- AGE ACROSS THE STATE CONSISTENT WITH THIS SECTION. 2. SUCH CRIME VICTIM AND TRAUMA SURVIVOR RECOVERY CENTERS SHALL FOCUS ON HELPING INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE: (A) BEEN A VICTIM OF A VIOLENT CRIME, INCLUDING INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE SUFFERED GUNSHOT WOUNDS; (B) BEEN A VICTIM OF SEXUAL ASSAULT; (C) BEEN A VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE; (D) BEEN A VICTIM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING; (E) BEEN A VICTIM OF A HATE CRIME; OR (F) HAD A FAMILY MEMBER ASSAULTED OR KILLED. 3. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 576 to read as follows: § 576. CRIME VICTIM AND TRAUMA SURVIVOR RECOVERY CENTERS. 1. THE OFFICE FOR THE PREVENTION OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHALL FACILITATE THE DEVELOPMENT AND ESTABLISHMENT OF, AND DESIGNATE, FIVE REGIONAL CRIME VICTIM AND TRAUMA SURVIVOR RECOVERY CENTERS ACROSS THE STATE.
