   read once and referred to the Committee on  Corporations,  Authorities
   and Commissions
 
 AN  ACT  to  amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to exempting
   school buses from central business district tolls
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 1704-a of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by
 adding a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows:
   2-A.  NOTWITHSTANDING  ANY PROVISION OF LAW TO THE CONTRARY, NO SCHOOL
 BUS AS DEFINED IN SECTION ONE HUNDRED FORTY-TWO OF THIS CHAPTER SHALL BE
 CHARGED A CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT  TOLL.  APPLICATION  FOR  SUCH  TOLL
 EXEMPTION  SHALL  BE MADE IN SUCH MANNER AS PRESCRIBED BY THE TRIBOROUGH
 BRIDGE AND TUNNEL AUTHORITY AND SHALL CONTAIN SUCH  INFORMATION  AS  THE
 AUTHORITY MAY REASONABLY REQUIRE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
