 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  environmental  conservation law, in relation to
   directing the department of environmental conservation to undertake  a
   review  of  the  regulations governing the permitting of landfills and
   transfer stations to ensure that such regulations integrate the latest
   scientific information
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  27-0703 of the environmental conservation law is
 amended by adding a new subdivision 7 to read as follows:
   7. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL UNDERTAKE A REVIEW OF THE REGULATIONS  GOVERN-
 ING  THE PERMITTING OF LANDFILLS AND TRANSFER STATIONS, INCLUDING SITING
 AND EXPANSION, TO ENSURE THAT  SUCH  REGULATIONS  INTEGRATE  THE  LATEST
 SCIENTIFIC  INFORMATION  REGARDING  THE  IMPACTS  OF  SUCH FACILITIES ON
 VULNERABLE POPULATIONS  SUCH  AS  CHILDREN  AND  SENIORS,  DISADVANTAGED
 COMMUNITIES,  WATER,  AND  THE ENVIRONMENT.   ON OR BEFORE MARCH THIRTY-
 FIRST, TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-FIVE, THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSER-
 VATION SHALL POST A REPORT CONTAINING THE FINDINGS FROM SUCH  REVIEW  ON
 ITS WEBSITE.
   § 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
