NORRIS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to expanding voter regis- tration to include registration by certain agencies or entities THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 13 of section 5-900 of the election law, as amended by chapter 37 of the laws of 2021, is amended to read as follows: 13. (A) Beginning January first, two thousand twenty-three, designated agencies for purposes of this section shall include the department of motor vehicles. (B) Beginning January first, two thousand twenty-four, designated agencies for the purposes of this section shall also include: (I) the department of health, the office of temporary and disability assistance, the department of labor, the office of adult career and continuing education services - vocational rehabilitation, county and city departments of social services, and the New York city housing authority[, as well as]; (II) ANY OTHER AGENCY OR ENTITY THAT ACCEPTS AN APPLICATION OR COLLECTS A FEE IN EXCHANGE FOR A GOVERNMENT OR EDUCATIONAL SERVICE, WHICH INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: (A) THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND MARKETS; (B) THE DEPARTMENT OF TAXATION AND FINANCE; (C) THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION; (D) THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES; (E) THE STATE INSURANCE FUND; (F) THE OFFICE OF THE PROFESSIONS; (G) THE DIVISION OF LICENSING SERVICES; (H) THE EMPIRE STATE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION; (I) THE STATE LIQUOR AUTHORITY; EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
