PHEFFER AMATO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to establishing a central business district toll exemption for certain police officers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1704-a of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows: 2-A. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION TO THE CONTRARY, NO POLICE OFFICER SHALL BE CHARGED A CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT TOLL IF SUCH POLICE OFFICER IS EMPLOYED IN THE POLICE FORCE OF A CITY WITH A POPULATION OF ONE MILLION OR MORE. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD06440-01-3
