 AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to  prohibiting  trustees
   and  members  of  a board of education from having a family member who
   works for the same board of education or school district as the  trus-
   tee or member
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 2103 of the education law is amended  by  adding  a
 new subdivision 5 to read as follows:
   5.  NO  TRUSTEE  OR MEMBER OF A BOARD OF EDUCATION SHALL HAVE A FAMILY
 MEMBER WHO WORKS FOR THE SAME BOARD OF EDUCATION OR FOR THE SAME  SCHOOL
 DISTRICT AS SUCH TRUSTEE OR MEMBER SERVES.
   §  2.  This  act  shall take effect immediately and shall apply to all
 members or trustees of a board of education who are elected or appointed
 after the date on which this act shall have become a law.
