ANDERSON -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to notifying the surviv- ing family of homicide victims of the availability of victim support services programs THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 623 of the executive law is amended by adding a new subdivision 24 to read as follows: 24. TO PROVIDE THE SURVIVING FAMILY OF A HOMICIDE VICTIM WRITTEN NOTICE OF THE AVAILABILITY OF VICTIM SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAMS IN THE STATE. SUCH WRITTEN NOTICE SHALL INCLUDE A STATEWIDE LISTING OF VICTIM ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE CRISIS INTERVENTION, ADVOCACY, COUN- SELING, AND OTHER VICTIM SUPPORT SERVICES AND SHALL INCLUDE A LINK TO THE WEBSITE OF THE OFFICE. § 2.
