 AN  ACT  to  amend  the election law, in relation to the dates to file a
   designating petition; and providing for the repeal of such  provisions
   upon expiration thereof
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 6-158  of  the  election  law,  as
 amended by chapter 5 of the laws of 2019, is amended to read as follows:
   1.  A  designating  petition shall be filed not earlier than the thir-
 teenth [Monday] WEDNESDAY before, and not later than the twelfth [Thurs-
 day] MONDAY preceding the primary election.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire  December
 31,  2023 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed
 repealed.

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 6-158 of the election law is amended  by  adding  a
 new subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
   1-A.  NOTWITHSTANDING  THE  TIME  FIXED  IN  SUBDIVISION  ONE  OF THIS
 SECTION, FOR THE YEAR TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-THREE, SUCH DESIGNATING  PETI-
 TION REQUIRED TO BE FILED BY SUCH SUBDIVISION SHALL BE FILED NOT EARLIER
 THAN THE THIRTEENTH MONDAY BEFORE, AND NOT LATER THAN THE TWELFTH MONDAY
 PRECEDING THE PRIMARY ELECTION.
   §  2.  Section  6-134  of  the election law is amended by adding a new
 subdivision 4-a to read as follows:
   4-A. NOTWITHSTANDING THE  TIME  FIXED  IN  SUBDIVISION  FOUR  OF  THIS
 SECTION, FOR THE YEAR TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-THREE, A SIGNATURE MADE EARLI-
 ER THAN FORTY-ONE DAYS BEFORE THE LAST DAY TO FILE DESIGNATING PETITIONS
 FOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION SHALL NOT BE COUNTED.
   §  3. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire December
 31, 2023 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be  deemed
 repealed.
