K. BROWN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Housing AN ACT to amend the private housing finance law, in relation to requir- ing five percent of affordable housing units to be offered to veterans THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The private housing finance law is amended by adding a new section 602-a to read as follows: § 602-A. HOUSING FOR VETERANS. ALL COMPANIES, CORPORATIONS, AND PROGRAMS SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CHAPTER SHALL OFFER, AT A MINIMUM, FIVE PERCENT OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS BUILT BY SUCH COMPA- NIES CORPORATIONS AND PROGRAMS TO VETERANS, AS SUCH TERM IS DEFINED PURSUANT TO SECTION EIGHTY-FIVE OF THE CIVIL SERVICE LAW. § 2.
