PHEFFER AMATO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Economic Development AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to exempting correction officers of any penal correctional institution from train- ing requirements for security guards THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph a of subdivision 4 of section 89-n of the general business law, as amended by chapter 221 of the laws of 2003, is amended to read as follows: a. a correction officer of any state correctional facility OR OF ANY PENAL CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION having the powers of a peace officer pursuant to subdivision twenty-five of section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law; § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09929-01-3
