 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  general  business law, in relation to requiring
   members of a boat club complete a boating safety course
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
 398-g to read as follows:
   §  398-G.  BOAT  CLUBS.  1.  FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, A "BOAT
 CLUB" SHALL MEAN ANY MARINA OR  OTHER  BUSINESS  OR  INSTALLATION  WHICH
 PROVIDES  FOR  THE LAUNCHING, MOORING, DOCKING OR OPERATING ANY CRAFT OR
 PERMITS SUCH LAUNCHING, MOORING, DOCKING OR OPERATING.
   2. ALL OWNERS, OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, CUSTOMERS  AND  PERSONS  USING  A
 BOAT  CLUB  SHALL  SUCCESSFULLY  COMPLETE  A  BOATING  SAFETY  COURSE OR
 ADVANCED BOATING SAFETY COURSE PURSUANT TO SECTION SEVENTY-EIGHT OF  THE
 NAVIGATION LAW.
   §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
 have become a law.
