 AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to  requir-
   ing  the department of agriculture and markets to develop and maintain
   a database on the impact of climate change on agriculture

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 16 of the agriculture and markets law is amended by
 adding a new subdivision 53 to read as follows:
   53.  DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN A SEARCHABLE, PUBLICLY AVAILABLE DATABASE OF
 AGRICULTURAL DATA RECEIVED ANNUALLY FROM FARMERS IN THE STATE.    BEGIN-
 NING  JANUARY  FIRST, TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-FIVE, AND ANNUALLY THEREAFTER,
 FARMERS IN THE STATE SHALL REPORT TO THE DEPARTMENT  ON  THE  IMPACT  OF
 CLIMATE CHANGE ON AGRICULTURE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CROPS GROWN,
 OUTCOMES  AND  YIELD.  THE  DEPARTMENT SHALL CONDUCT OUTREACH EFFORTS TO
 FARMERS IN THE STATE TO DEVELOP THE DATABASE AND TO  INFORM  FARMERS  OF
 THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBDIVISION.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
