PHEFFER AMATO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to establishing a central business district toll exemption for veterans THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1704-a of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new subdivision 2-a to read as follows: 2-A. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION TO THE CONTRARY, NO VETERAN WHO IS A NEW YORK STATE RESIDENT SHALL BE CHARGED A CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT TOLL. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBDIVISION, "VETERAN" SHALL HAVE THE SAME MEANING AS IN SUBDIVISION THREE OF SECTION ONE OF THE VETERANS' SERVICES LAW. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13494-01-3
