SAYEGH -- read once and referred to the Committee on Economic Development AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to exempting certain security guards from annual in-service training courses THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 89-n of the general business law is amended by adding a new subdivision 5 to read as follows: 5. A SECURITY GUARD SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF PARAGRAPH D OF SUBDIVISION ONE OF THIS SECTION AS LONG AS HE OR SHE IS CURRENTLY REGISTERED WITH THE STATE TO BE A SECURITY GUARD AND HAS A BACHELOR'S DEGREE OR HIGHER FROM AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE OR AN EQUIVALENT. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13467-01-3
