BUTTENSCHON -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the volunteer firefighters' benefit law, in relation to coverage for cancer screenings THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 5 of the volunteer firefighters' benefit law is amended by adding a new paragraph q to read as follows: Q. WHILE, WITHIN THE STATE, UNDERGOING A FULL CANCER SCREENING, AS DETERMINED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH, UPON ENTRY OF SERVICE TO A FIRE DEPARTMENT OR FIRE COMPANY AND ANNUALLY THEREAFTER. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13444-01-3
