 AN ACT to amend the volunteer firefighters' benefit law, in relation  to
   coverage for cancer screenings
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 5 of the  volunteer  firefighters'
 benefit law is amended by adding a new paragraph q to read as follows:
   Q.  WHILE,  WITHIN  THE  STATE, UNDERGOING A FULL CANCER SCREENING, AS
 DETERMINED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH, UPON ENTRY  OF  SERVICE  TO  A
 FIRE DEPARTMENT OR FIRE COMPANY AND ANNUALLY THEREAFTER.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
