 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  mental  hygiene law, in relation to identifying
   information and training programs relating to the diagnosis and treat-
   ment of post-traumatic stress disorder for military veterans,  and  to
   amend  a  chapter  of the laws of 2023 amending the mental hygiene law
   relating to a program for the diagnosis and treatment of post-traumat-
   ic stress disorder, as proposed in legislative bills numbers  S.  7274
   and A. 793, in relation to the effectiveness thereof
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision (g) of section 7.17 of the mental hygiene  law,
 as  added  by  a chapter of the laws of 2023 amending the mental hygiene
 law relating to a program for the diagnosis and treatment of  post-trau-
 matic  stress disorder, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 7274
 and A.  793, is amended to read as follows:
   (g) The commissioner, in cooperation with any other  state  agency  or
 relevant  stakeholder, shall [develop a] IDENTIFY INFORMATION AND train-
 ing [program to be posted on the office's website for] PROGRAMS RELATING
 TO the diagnosis and treatment of  post-traumatic  stress  disorder  for
 military  veterans[.  The program], INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, TRAIN-
 INGS DEVELOPED USING FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE  STATE  OF  NEW  YORK,  AND
 PUBLISH  SUCH INFORMATION AND LINKS TO RELEVANT TRAINING PROGRAMS ON THE
 OFFICE'S WEBSITE.   THE IDENTIFIED  INFORMATION  AND  TRAINING  PROGRAMS
 shall  include  a  component on military culture competency and shall be
 intended for [the training of] USE BY mental health providers and mental
 health clinicians. [Certification of the completion of the  program  may
 be provided to participants through the office.]
   §  2.  Section  2 of a chapter of the laws of 2023 amending the mental
 hygiene law relating to a program for the  diagnosis  and  treatment  of
 post-traumatic stress disorder, as proposed in legislative bills numbers
 S. 7274 and A. 793, is amended to read as follows:
   §  2.  This  act  shall take effect [immediately] ON THE NINETIETH DAY
 AFTER IT SHALL HAVE BECOME A LAW.
 
  EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets
                       [ ] is old law to be omitted.
