COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of Tri-County
United Way

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Tri-County United Way; this
monumental achievement will be celebrated with a Scavenger Hunt on
Saturday, May 20, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, in honor of Tri-County United Way's
century-long commitment to the communities of Warren, Washington and
Northern Saratoga Counties, Mayor Bill Collins of the City of Glens
Falls has declared Saturday, May 20, 2023, as Tri-County United Way Day;
and

WHEREAS, An organization dedicated to helping people, Tri-County
United Way works to improve lives and make a positive impact in the
local community by raising resources through collaboration with others,
encouraging volunteerism, and resolving community problems; and

WHEREAS, Throughout its distinguished history, Tri-County United Way
has connected thousands of individuals within the region to local and
national resources for housing, food, healthcare, childcare, education,
employment, transportation, counseling and beyond; and

WHEREAS, Tri-County United Way tirelessly serves the interests of
the people of this Empire State, funding countless local programs and
initiatives, as well as working with community partners to ensure
outcomes are being met and impact is being made; and

WHEREAS, For a century, Tri-County United Way has been dedicated to
the strength and well-being of families throughout the region; since its
inception, this vital agency has strived to provide professional
counseling and community services which empower individuals and families
to deal more effectively with their challenges, enhancing the quality of
their lives; and

WHEREAS, Today, Tri-County United Way continues to work in
partnership with the compassionate strength of local agencies and
business to help promote greater welfare for all in the tri-county
region; and

WHEREAS, The success of Tri-County United Way is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its staff, volunteers and Board of
Directors, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by
an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising

standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Tri-County United Way;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
organizations which enhance the well-being and vitality of their
community and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence
certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Tri-County United Way; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Tri-County United Way.
