HONORING Rabbi Shlomo Segal and Rebbetzin Adina
Segal upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition after 18 years of dedicated
service to the Jewish community by Kehilat Moshe of
Southern Brooklyn on May 21, 2023

WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life
in this noble Empire State is nourished and fulfilled through the
faithful concern and selfless devotion of those who would commit their
energies and purpose to the ministry of others; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish
themselves and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and
preeminence of service; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Rabbi Shlomo Segal and Rebbetzin Adina Segal upon the occasion of their
designation for special recognition after 18 years of dedicated service
to the Jewish community to be celebrated at Kehilat Moshe of Southern
Brooklyn's 10th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, May 21, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Shlomo Segal and Rebbetzin Adina Segal founded
Kehilat Moshe of Southern Brooklyn in 2013; they developed the
congregation to create a diverse, multi-generational caring community
serving Southern Brooklyn and surrounding areas; and

WHEREAS, In April of 2018, Rabbi Shlomo Segal, who has served
congregations in both New York and New Jersey, delivered the opening
prayer before the United States House of Representatives; and

WHEREAS, A wise individual, Rabbi Shlomo Segal has written several
scholarly articles, taught at various adult educational institutions,
and mentored younger colleagues; and

WHEREAS, Truly caring for the Southern Brooklyn community, Rabbi
Shlomo Segal is dedicated to a myriad of civic and charitable
organizations, serving on the Board of Governors of the New York Board
of Rabbis; he celebrates the diversity of Brooklyn to make religion a
positive force in the community; and

WHEREAS, Rebbetzin Adina Segal is the Jewish Community Outreach
Social Worker at CaringKind, providing education and support to families
affected by dementia in the Jewish communities in Brooklyn; and

WHEREAS, The quintessential spiritual woman, Rebbetzin Adina Segal
is passionate about working with individuals and families impacted by
issues related to illness and aging; and

WHEREAS, Kehilat Moshe of Southern Brooklyn is proud to pay just
tribute to Rabbi Shlomo Segal and Rebbetzin Adina Segal for all they do

to create a welcoming Jewish community that is rich in study, prayer,
friendship, and acts of loving kindness; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish
themselves and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and
preeminence of service; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rabbi Shlomo Segal and Rebbetzin Adina Segal upon the occasion of
their designation for special recognition after 18 years of dedicated
service to the Jewish community by Kehilat Moshe of Southern Brooklyn on
May 21, 2023; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rabbi Shlomo Segal and Rebbetzin Adina Segal and Kehilat
Moshe of Southern Brooklyn.
