Senate Resolution No. 1144

MOURNING the death of Peter Edward Clark, United
States Navy veteran, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and this
great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Peter E. Clark, noting the
significance of his purposeful life and accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Peter E. Clark died on April 30, 2023, at the age of 62;
and

WHEREAS, Peter E. Clark was born on February 24, 1961, to John L.
Clark and Rosalie M. Clark and grew up in Bedford, New York, where he
attended Fox Lane High School; and

WHEREAS, After graduating, Peter E. Clark proudly served his country
as a member of the United States Navy at sea during the Libyan Crisis;
upon his discharge from active duty, he worked at the Naval Hospital in
Great Lakes, Illinois; later, he earned his degree from Saint Petersburg
College in Florida and became a physical therapist assistant; and

WHEREAS, Peter E. Clark was employed with Genesis Rehab in Tampa,
Florida, and in later years, worked as a school bus assistant for
Pinellas County schools; he was also a part-time referee and officiated
girls basketball for schools in the Pinellas County area; and

WHEREAS, An avid sports fan, Peter E. Clark loved the Los Angeles
Dodgers and enjoyed gardening, music and long drives in his car; and

WHEREAS, Peter E. Clark was always ready and willing to lend a
helping hand whenever needed and always greeted his friends with a warm
smile; and

WHEREAS, Peter E. Clark is survived by his three sisters, Patricia,
Susan, and Ida; three brothers, Joseph (Marcia), Chris (Lisa), and
Richard (Ildiko); seven nieces, Kellie, Kimberly, Christine, Cynthia,
Kara, Angela, and Jacklyn; three nephews, Brian, Roy, and Johnny; his
Aunt Beverly and Uncle Peter Albano, and Aunt Elveta Albano, and many
great nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends who will long
cherish his memory; and

WHEREAS, Peter E. Clark's infinite selflessness and benevolence will
shine on through his family's vivid and happy memories; his insight and
strength will forever serve as a beacon of love, light and hope to the
countless lives he touched; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Peter E. Clark leaves behind a legacy which will long endure

the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all who
were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man; he will be
deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Peter E. Clark and to express its deepest condolences
to his family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Peter E. Clark.
