COMMENDING Congregation Agudat Achim upon the
occasion of hosting its 45th Annual Carrot Festival
on September 10, 2023
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with
its time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those
faith-based organizations that embrace the historical significance and
contributions of their localities which strengthens the fabric of the
communities of New York State; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the
Congregation Agudat Achim upon the occasion of hosting its 45th Annual
Carrot Festival on Sunday, September 10, 2023; and
WHEREAS, This year marks the 45th Anniversary of the Carrot
Festival; the occasion is complete with vendors and crafters both
indoors and outdoors selling their wares, and farm-fresh produce from
the Carrot Barn is made available at the Rose and Paul Westheimer
Produce Tent, just as it has been every year since the very first
festival; and
WHEREAS, Congregation Agudat Achim has been steadfast in their
mission to give their community the Jewish tools to find meaning in life
and to fulfill their spiritual needs, and enhancing the lives of their
community by fostering ever greater commitment to Mitzvot Sacred
Obligations such as prayer, Shabbat, Kashrut and Holidays; and
WHEREAS, In addition to the aforementioned principles, Congregation
Agudat Achim is committed to creating a learning community that
encompasses adults as well as children, and instilling in their members
of all ages a lifelong love of Judaism; and
WHEREAS, Sponsors such as CDTA, Merrill, Lia Nissan of Colonie,
Ellis Medicine, Price Chopper, Market 32, Key Private Bank and Trustco
Bank all provide assistance to help make the Carrot Festival a
resounding success year in and year out; and
WHEREAS, Since 1978, Congregation Agudat Achim's Annual Carrot
Festival has risen from its once humble beginnings to a beloved yearly
end-of-summer outing for people of the Capital District and surrounding
areas; and
WHEREAS, The Annual Carrot Festival not only showcases an excellent
array of foods and desserts from all around the globe, but also live
music and entertainment, in addition to local vendors who provide for a
fun filled day for people of all ages throughout our community; and
WHEREAS, Raising community consciousness, Congregation Agudat
Achim's Annual Carrot Festival always celebrates a theme for the event;
and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend cultural events which symbolize the historical, social, and
cultural development of this great State and embody the spirit of the
principles upon which this Nation was founded; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Congregation Agudat Achim upon the occasion of hosting its
45th Annual Carrot Festival on September 10, 2023; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Congregation Agudat Achim.
