Senate Resolution No. 1362

CONGRATULATING Karl R. Keil Jr. upon the occasion
of his retirement after 21 years of dedicated
service as Assistant Superintendent for Business of
Camden Central School District
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed
residents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Karl R. Keil Jr. upon the occasion of his retirement after
21 years of dedicated service as Assistant Superintendent for Business
of Camden Central School District to be celebrated on Thursday, June 22,
2023, at McConnellsville Country Club in Blossvale, New York; and
WHEREAS, Karl R. Keil Jr. attended the Camden Central School
District from Kindergarten through High School graduation, during which
time he was recognized with the prestigious honor of being named the
Ideal Senior by his peers; and
WHEREAS, As Assistant Superintendent for Business for more than two
decades, Karl R. Keil Jr. has worked tirelessly to accomplish 21
consecutive successful budget votes, over $105 million of construction
with eight successful referendums, and created a solar farm on 9.57
acres of land that is projected to save millions of dollars; and
WHEREAS, Karl R. Keil Jr. lead in the consolidation of two school
buildings with the successful sale of both properties, as well as the
installation of a New York State Cutting Edge Weather Station, and the
procurement of two important properties; he was also instrumental in the
expansion of the District Office to include a large conference room and
new offices for the Instructional Technology Department; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious tenure, Karl R. Keil Jr. oversaw
many Grants including Record Archive, Federal, FEMA, Propane Bus, Solar
and ARPA; he also saved and secured maximum funding for annual
reimbursable aids and closed out of all construction projects to garnish
maximum debt relief; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, he was one of the first in New York State to
create a Community Eligibility Provision for free meals for all
students; and
WHEREAS, Karl R. Keil Jr. managed a cohesive Business Office focused
on customer satisfaction; he established excellent Health and Safety
committee structure and protocols, and had strong relationships based on
trust and respect with the CSEA Union and the Board of Education; and
WHEREAS, A true community advocate, Karl R. Keil Jr. has also worked
tirelessly in support of school districts and students throughout the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, As Assistant Superintendent for Business, Karl R. Keil Jr.
modeled a culture of humbleness, respect and dedication to his work; he
was the 2019 recipient of the ASBO Dr. Joan Colvin Starfish Award; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his community
and profession, Karl R. Keil Jr. is a Voting Committee member of the MOH
Health Consortium and Chairperson of the OHM Workman's Compensation
Board; and
WHEREAS, For 21 years, Karl R. Keil Jr. rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Camden Central School
District, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate
blending of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that
demonstrated by Karl R. Keil Jr. over a lifetime of sacrifice and
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Karl R. Keil Jr. upon the occasion of his retirement, and
to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Karl R. Keil Jr.
