CONGRATULATING Arnold R. Fisher upon the occasion
of celebrating his 100th Birthday
WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and knowledge
to the increasingly active roles they play in today's society; their
past contributions and future participation are a vital part of, and
valuable asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commemorate
and recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens of this great
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Arnold R. Fisher upon the occasion of his 100th Birthday to
be celebrated on Tuesday, October 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Arnold Fisher was born on October 31, 1923 and resides in
Hamilton, New York, where he spent most of his life; and
WHEREAS, Devoted to serving his community, Arnold Fisher has been a
member of the Morrisville State College Council since 1967, holding the
position of chairman from 1997 to 2008; he was also chairman and a
founding member of the College's Foundation Board; and
WHEREAS, In addition to making generous donations of his own, Arnold
Fisher has worked both publicly and privately to encourage financial
support of the college with the efforts of his wife Arlene; the mustang
sculpture that stands in the quad and the high-quality cattle given to
the dairy program can be attributed to the Fisher's dedication to the
important entity of the community; and
WHEREAS, While operating his own dairy farm for many years, Arnold
Fisher also served in a myriad of respected roles, such as the Hamilton
Village Judge, New York State Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, Madison
County Clerk, and Madison County Commissioner of Jurors; with his
knowledge of the industry, he was a member of the Madison County Farm
Bureau and Grange, the 4-H Executive Committee, and the New York State
Fair Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, To honor Arnold Fisher's public service and philanthropy to
Morrisville State College, the Arnold R. Fisher Dairy Complex was named
after him in 2009; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished man has experienced the incredible joys
and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those with the stamina
and courage to savor a full life; and
WHEREAS, Arnold Fisher has enriched the lives of those around him
through his joyous and sincere love for others and through the vibrant
charm and infinite wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have
witnessed and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and
awesome achievements of this country during the last century, while
themselves contributing to the growth and excellence of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Arnold R. Fisher upon the occasion of celebrating his 100th
Birthday; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Arnold R. Fisher.
