CONGRATULATING the Seaford High School Game Day
Cheerleading Team upon the occasion of capturing the
NYSPHSAA Game Day Cheerleading Championship
WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Seaford High School Game Day Cheerleading Team, Head Coach Lisa Ferrari,
and Assistant Coach Brenda Martin upon the occasion of capturing the
NYSPHSAA Game Day Cheerleading Championship held at the Visions Veterans
Memorial Arena in Binghamton, New York, on Sunday, November 5, 2023; and
WHEREAS, The New York State Public High School Athletic Association
hosts 38 annual state championship events; more than 600,000
student-athletes participate in interscholastic athletics in New York
State; the 10-section showdown was New York State's first championship
for the Game Day category which celebrates traditional cheerleading and
is modeled after sideline cheer routines performed at sporting events;
and
WHEREAS, Family, friends, and the community loyally and
enthusiastically supported the Seaford High School Game Day Cheerleading
Team throughout their journey to their capturing the championship; and
WHEREAS, In a sport such as cheerleading, which demands athletic
prowess and agility, Head Coach Lisa Ferrari and Assistant Coach Brenda
Martin worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team,
teaching these outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable
both on and off the field and court; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Lisa Ferrari, Assistant Coach Brenda Martin, and
all the outstanding athletes on the Seaford High School Game Day
Cheerleading Team have clearly utilized dedication, commitment,
determination, and teamwork in providing a lasting contribution to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Seaford High School Game Day
Cheerleading Team: Ava Ammirati, Megan Bloom, Lauren Bowers, Julianna
Cannata, Gabrielle Caporaso, Gianna Cerulli, Grace Doerbecker, Molly
Donner, Kayleigh Elias, Shayla Fox, Jessica Haering, Vienna Kalischer,
Codi Kasparian, Hayley Kern, Kathryn Kofod, Gianna Pasquale, Marisa
Patsatsis, Melissa Phieffer, Alexandra Podesta, Lilah Posporelis, Ashley
Rauch, Cassidy Rosen, Brianna Sidoti, and Isabella Strippoli; Head Coach
Lisa Ferrari; and Assistant Coach Brenda Martin upon the occasion of
capturing the NYSPHSAA Game Day Cheerleading Championship; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Seaford High School Game Day
Cheerleading Team, Head Coach Lisa Ferrari, and Assistant Coach Brenda
Martin.
