CONGRATULATING Margaret Anne Chase upon the
occasion of her retirement after 10 years of
distinguished public service to the Onondaga County
Legislature

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals of outstanding purpose whose lives have been
committed to public service and the pursuit of excellence in the conduct
of the legislative process in this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Margaret Anne Chase upon the occasion of her retirement
after 10 years of distinguished public service to the Onondaga County
Legislature; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Anne Chase, affectionately known as Peggy, has
been called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless civic
and charitable endeavors and has always given of herself unstintingly;
and

WHEREAS, Peggy Chase faithfully served as the 9th District Onondaga
County Legislator from 2013 to 2023 with great diligence and honor; and

WHEREAS, Born and raised in Eastwood, New York, Peggy Chase is a
Registered Nurse with a Doctoral degree in Education Administration from
Syracuse University; and

WHEREAS, This extraordinary woman has extensive experience as both
an educator and nurse leader in local hospitals; she has taught Nursing
at Morrisville, SUNY Upstate Medical, and Syracuse University, and
currently serves as an adjunct professor at Keuka College; and

WHEREAS, Appointed to the State Education Department Nurse Board,
Peggy Chase is involved in policy development and practice monitoring of
licensed professionals within New York State; she is also an active
member of the New York State Nurses' Association focusing on legislative
and education issues; and

WHEREAS, A true asset to her local community, Peggy Chase is
involved in several volunteer activities including as an RN at the North
Side Ministries Porvello Clinic and Blessed Sacrament Parish; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to supporting
and promoting women's issues, Peggy Chase is an active member of the
Eastwood Neighborhood Association (ENA), TNT, Women's Initiative Now
(WIN), CNY National Organization of Women (NOW), and Syracuse Women's
Commission; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Peggy Chase has stood constant in
dignity, good grace, and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Peggy Chase has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Margaret Anne Chase upon the occasion of her retirement
after 10 years of distinguished public service to the Onondaga County
Legislature; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Margaret Anne Chase.
