CONGRATULATING Jamie Bourgeois upon the occasion
of capturing the 2024 Vintage World Championship
Snowmobile Races on February 23, 2024

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body commends rare athletic achievements
and pays special recognition to those who pursue such excellence in the
sport of snowmobile racing, attaining unprecedented success and the
highest level of personal achievement; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Jamie
Bourgeois upon the occasion of capturing the 2024 Vintage World
Championship Snowmobile Races, held February 22nd to 23rd, 2024, in
Eagle River, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, From Boonville, New York, Jamie Bourgeois led all 10 laps
sporting his No. 4 MotoSki vintage snowmobile in the final to win his
first World Cup title; and

WHEREAS, A long-time snowmobile race competitor, Jamie Bourgeois won
the Pro Champ Adirondack Cup trophy at last year's snowmobile races in
Boonville; this is his first world title in the 440 Super Modified
Vintage Class; and

WHEREAS, Making it to the final as the "fast qualifier," Jamie
Bourgeois had no time for trail runs, but managed to get off to a good
start as he gained high scores through heat racing leading up to the
final; his high score led to him obtaining the preferred line at the
starting line as he faced five-time champion Matt Goede and ultimately
won; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor Jamie
Bourgeois for his extraordinary athletic accomplishments which are a
tribute to his skill, dedication and commitment; his character and
achievements stand as a sterling example and inspiration to all who
would aspire to success; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Jamie Bourgeois upon the occasion of capturing the 2024
Vintage World Championship Snowmobile Races on February 23, 2024; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jamie Bourgeois.
