COMMENDING the Jewish Community Relations Council
of New York upon the occasion of hosting its Annual
Gala on May 20, 2024, and paying tribute to this
year's Honorees
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York upon the
occasion of hosting its Annual Gala at the Plaza in New York, New York,
on Monday, May 20, 2024; and
WHEREAS, The Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC)
is the central communicating, coordinating, and convening body for the
Jewish community of New York State; the Council unites New York State's
Jewry with the State of Israel, fosters communication among Jewish
organizations, and cultivates and strengthens relations with other
ethnic groups, elected officials, and the community; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body joins in celebrating the Honorees of
each prestigious award being presented; their effort and hard work are
not unnoticed by the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York; and
WHEREAS, The importance of each award shows the true dedication it
takes to make the community a stronger and healthier place for every
member; and
WHEREAS, The effort to create an ongoing, working dialogue among
community members is integral to the development of our great City and
State, bringing people together in social settings and creating a safe
place for the direction of the community to continually grow and
flourish as the beloved community all New Yorkers desire; and
WHEREAS, Business aspects and the work to properly support and share
in cooperative and collaborative economic development are vital parts of
a thriving community; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body, without reservation, supports the
excellence epitomized by the Young Leadership Scholarship and the high
value placed on supporting and nurturing the youth in every community
across the State; and
WHEREAS, The Members of this Legislative Body thank the Jewish
Community Relations Council of New York for these efforts and the energy
put forward to make these visions a reality and, with great admiration,
share in the excitement of commemorating every Honoree; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body that those
illustrious organizations, which enhance the well-being and vitality of
their communities and have shown a long, sustained commitment to
excellence, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York upon the
occasion of hosting its Annual Gala on May 20, 2024, and paying tribute
to this year's Honorees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York.
