CONGRATULATING the Bath-Haverling Girls Varsity
Soccer Team upon the occasion of capturing the 2023
NYSPHSAA Class B Girls Soccer Championship on
November 12, 2023
WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Bath-Haverling Girls Varsity Soccer Team upon the occasion of capturing
the 2023 NYSPHSAA Class B Girls Soccer Championship, held on Sunday,
November 12, 2023, at Cortland High School in Cortland, New York; and
WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, the
Bath-Haverling Girls Varsity Soccer Team defeated Babylon in a close
battle for the title with a final score of 1-0; and
WHEREAS, Their first Class B state title, the Rams had a remarkable
season and also claimed the Section V title; coming into the state
tournament with something to prove after falling short last season, the
girls soccer team showed incredible sportsmanship and athleticism to win
this year, with several players on the team receiving honors such as
All-State and one player being named to the All-America Team; and
WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors of blue and white,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported the Rams throughout their journey as they ended their season
with an impressive 21-1-0 overall record; and
WHEREAS, In a sport such as soccer, which demands athletic prowess,
speed and agility, Head Coach Braedyn Northrup and Assistant Coach Mike
Clancy have worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team,
teaching these outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable
both on and off the field; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Braedyn Northrup and Assistant Coach Mike Clancy
and all of the outstanding athletes on the Bath-Haverling Girls Varsity
Soccer Team have clearly utilized dedication, determination and teamwork
in providing a lasting contribution to the spirit of excellence which is
a tradition of their school; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Bath-Haverling Girls Varsity Soccer
Team: Riley Beaty, Zoey Winfield, Emmalyn Lafler, Lola Coots, Katelynn
Dubois, Leah Krelie, Triesta Sprague, Jenna Thorp, Madison Thorp,
BreeAnn Walruth, Ainsley Beaty, Lydia Dickson, Braydyn Gerrity, Emma
Luckenbach, Skylar Lyke, Abigail Rodbourn, Keegan Smith, Ella Yartym,
Aleah Binkowski, Gracelyn Wheeler, Sierra Haight, Emma Scheider, Makayla
Smith, Contessa Vanskiver, and Maliyah Buckle; Head Coach Braedyn
Northrup; Assistant Coach Mike Clancy; JV Coach Adam Deats; and JV
Assistant Coach Kailey McLean upon the occasion of capturing the 2023
NYSPHSAA Class B Girls Soccer Championship on November 12, 2023; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Bath-Haverling Girls Varsity Soccer
Team; Head Coach Braedyn Northrup; Assistant Coach Mike Clancy; JV Coach
Adam Deats; and JV Assistant Coach Kailey McLean.
