HONORING The Tack Shack upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the 2024 Small Business
of the Year Award for Lewis County, New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
The Tack Shack upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the
2024 Small Business of the Year Award for Lewis County, New York, which
was celebrated on Thursday, May 2, 2024; and

WHEREAS, The Tack Shack received this prestigious award for its
steadfast and unremitting commitment to its Lewis County community; and

WHEREAS, In May of 2023, with grants, loans, business planning, and
training from Onondaga-Watertown Small Business Development Center
(SBDC) and Naturally Lewis, a champion of community growth, owner of The
Tack Shack, Edward Johnson, established his small business to devotedly
serve its community's needs; and

WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Edward Johnson, a certified
farrier, The Tack Shack offers supplies and services to the local equine
community; and

WHEREAS, The Tack Shack is a mobile business, primarily serving New
York State's Otter Creek Horse Trail System and equine-related events,
uniting equine enthusiasts within the surrounding area; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, The Tack Shack has stood as a beloved
establishment which has equipped riders with the supplies they need for
the health and well-being of their horses and the enjoyment of the
bonding experience of horseback riding; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling success it has experienced thus far; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor The Tack Shack upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2024 Small Business of the Year Award for Lewis County, New York;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Edward Johnson, Owner, The Tack Shack.
