COMMENDING Class of 2024 Valedictorian Jacob Gross
and Salutatorian Cole Goodman of Roslyn High School,
in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the youth of today, the
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Class of
2024 Valedictorian Jacob Gross and Salutatorian Cole Goodman of Roslyn
High School, in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Earning a grade-point average of 107.05, Jacob Gross is a
Top 40 Regeneron Science Talent Search Finalist, National Merit
Finalist, a United States Presidential Scholars Program candidate, AP
Scholar with Distinction, Captain of the Science Quiz Bowl Team, Vice
President of DECA, first chair in the viola section of the chamber
orchestra and Head Content Editor for the Journal of Secondary
Psychological Studies (JofSPS); and

WHEREAS, With a passion for science, Jacob Gross conducts scientific
research to explore the etiology of endometriosis at The Feinstein
Institutes for Medical Research at Northwell Health and to test novel
SARS-CoV-2 antibody cocktails for synergistic interactions at Columbia
University's Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center; and

WHEREAS, Devoted to the community, Jacob Gross volunteers to help
the elderly and local community members in need of support; he also
works with holocaust survivors through the Witness Project, and tutors
students through his non-profit, Tutor for a Cause, which donates all
proceeds to local hospitals; and

WHEREAS, Earning a grade-point average of 106.685, Cole Goodman is a
National Merit Finalist, a United States Presidential Scholars Program
candidate, and an AP Scholar with Distinction; and

WHEREAS, A high-achieving scholar, Cole Goodman serves as president
of DECA, president of the Forensics Team, and president of the Stock
Market Club; and

WHEREAS, A dedicated and active member of the community, Cole
Goodman volunteers to support schoolwide events and for Audubon New York
in on-the-ground conservation efforts; he also tutors students through
his charitable organization Learn to Donate, which donates all proceeds
to causes such as The Humane Society, St. Jude's Children's Research
Hospital, and 333 Charity; and

WHEREAS, In his free time, Cole Goodman works as a personal trainer
and marketing manager for BOUT Boxing; and

WHEREAS, Valedictorian Jacob Gross and Salutatorian Cole Goodman
represent the best of developed potential inherent in our most precious

resource, our youth; their achievements have brought enduring honor to
their families and communities and should be recognized and saluted; and

WHEREAS, As Valedictorian Jacob Gross and Salutatorian Cole Goodman
take leave of Roslyn High School, they bestow a legacy of academic
achievement, school involvement and community service to which others
may aspire; and

WHEREAS, Valedictorian Jacob Gross and Salutatorian Cole Goodman may
now stand with pride as they assess their achievements, experience the
satisfaction of their labors and the joy of their accomplishments, eager
to face the new experiences of a challenging world; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Class of 2024 Valedictorian Jacob Gross and Salutatorian Cole
Goodman of Roslyn High School, in recognition of their outstanding
accomplishments; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Valedictorian Jacob Gross and Salutatorian Cole Goodman.
