HONORING Rabbi Michael Mishkin and Tamara Noble
upon the occasion of their designation of special
recognition for 15 years of service to Temple Beth
Israel on June 9, 2024

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
outstanding individuals whose professional lives, personal endeavors,
and community service are an example and inspiration to their
colleagues, friends, family, and community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Rabbi Michael Mishkin and Tamara Noble upon the occasion of their
designation of special recognition for 15 years of service to Temple
Beth Israel, to be presented on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at their annual
Gala; and

WHEREAS, Supporting the Temple Beth Israel community for 15 years,
Rabbi Michael Mishkin and Tamara Noble moved to Port Washington on
August 1, 2009; shortly after, they were married on August 30th of that
year; and

WHEREAS, Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Rabbi Michael Mishkin earned
his B.A. in American History from the University of Pennsylvania;
furthering his education, his commitment to Judaism led him to study at
the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he received Rabbinic
Ordination in 2001, as well as a Masters of Hebrew Letters; and

WHEREAS, Welcomed into the Temple with open arms, Rabbi Michael
Mishkin has led Temple Beth Israel for the past three years as Senior
Rabbi; he has also served as the Chairperson of the Port Washington
Interfaith Clergy Association; and

WHEREAS, A Dallas native, Tamara Noble graduated from Emory
University with a dual-major in English Literature and Italian; and

WHEREAS, In her professional career, Tamara Noble has worked in the
digital division of marketing and sales for several companies; she has
served as the Director of Integrated Marketing Services for the Conde
Nast media group; and

WHEREAS, Devoted to her community, Tamara Noble volunteers at the
Solomon Schechter Day School of Long Island along with her support for
Temple Beth Israel; and

WHEREAS, With them throughout have been their children, Lily, Ben,
and Nathan, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of their lives and
rejoice in their achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Michael Mishkin brings his passion for life and his
love for Judaism to everything he does; Tamara Noble joins her husband
in their dedication to the Temple Beth Israel community, opening their
home to host people on Shabbat and Jewish holidays; and


WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by
individuals for the benefit of others which Rabbi Michael Mishkin and
Tamara Noble have displayed throughout their lives; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Rabbi Michael Mishkin and Tamara Noble, that future generations may know
and appreciate their admirable character, many benevolent deeds, and the
respect and esteem in which they are held by their peers; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor proud to honor Rabbi Michael Mishkin and Tamara Noble upon the
occasion of their designation of special recognition for 15 years of
service to Temple Beth Israel on June 9, 2024; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rabbi Michael Mishkin; Tamara Noble; and Rita Shumsky,
Temple Beth Israel.
