HONORING Debbie Esther Louis upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by ANS
Association on January 28, 2023
WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of individuals, such as Debbie Esther Louis, who uphold the
values of community life and who, through their great actions, epitomize
the best of humanity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Debbie
Esther Louis upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by ANS Association to be celebrated at its I Am Beautiful
Conference Award Ceremony on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at K & L Manor,
Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, An empowering networking group, ANS Association assists
men, women and youth with education and mentorship while providing vital
resources and development; truly dedicated to its community, this
extraordinary organization supports countless individuals through its
many initiatives, including food distribution, health care fairs,
business expos, networking events and youth empowerment groups; and
WHEREAS, A results-driven strategist who seeks to bring out the best
in all by helping people and businesses communicate and operate
efficiently and effectively, Debbie Esther Louis currently serves as
Secretary of her local County Committee; and
WHEREAS, Debbie Esther Louis' illustrious organizing career began
more than a decade ago with a school project which propelled her to a
life of community service; as an intern for a local elected Assemblyman,
she worked closely with local residents; and
WHEREAS, Debbie Esther Louis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in
Psychology with a minor in English from CUNY York College, and later a
master's degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology with a
specialization in Leadership from Touro College; and
WHEREAS, While working with partners at Titans Consulting
Strategies, Debbie Esther Louis followed her passion for advocacy and
consulted with non-profit government groups like Common Cause to help
improve transparency and accountability within the governing bodies of
New York City; her innovative yet effective approach has not only
secured major victories which have transformed New York's political
landscape, but have ensured the advancement of ranked-choice voting and
the election of culturally- diverse candidates; and
WHEREAS, Debbie Esther Louis is also the founder and creative genius
behind The A La Mode Experience (ALME), an event and organizational
management firm composed of unique experiences; and
WHEREAS, Recognizing that differences in perspectives and identities
lead to more value, Debbie Esther Louis believes communities can be
fostered through shared connections; subsequently, ALME is now producing
summits, festivals, weddings, conferences, and large community awareness
campaigns, all with a creative, efficient, and supportive attitude in
mind; and
WHEREAS, Given her unique combination of education, expertise, and
creativity, Debbie Esther Louis began teaching courses on leadership,
power, and motivation at her alma mater, York College, and is currently
completing her second master's degree at Baruch College; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Debbie Esther Louis is a member of the Haitian-American
Caucus and serves as a junior board member of the Church Avenue
Merchants Block Association (CAMBA) in Brooklyn, where her versatility,
keen insight, and extensive knowledge have been a tremendous asset to
nonprofit organizations working to revitalize their communities; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, she works on a shared podcast platform
entitled, "Building the Best Me," a series with a mission to support
women of color as they navigate their personal and professional
journeys; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Debbie Esther Louis has
displayed throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Debbie Esther Louis, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Debbie Esther Louis upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by ANS Association; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Debbie Esther Louis.
