COMMEMORATING the 45th Annual Remsen Barn Festival
of the Arts on September 28, 2024

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those organizations of artistic significance whose creative
contributions have helped further the cultural enrichment of our
communities and our Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 45th Annual Remsen Barn Festival of the Arts on
Saturday, September 28, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Originating with barn tours and handmade quilt exhibits,
the festival has evolved into one of the Northeast's premier events;
today, over 225 artists and crafters display their work at this annual
festival; and

WHEREAS, The Remsen Barn Festival of the Arts features various art,
jewelry, textiles, fashion accessories, woodcrafts, soaps, pottery,
holiday decorations, furniture, glassware, and candles; and

WHEREAS, Main Street in Remsen is closed to vehicles for the
festival, providing an opportunity for residents and purveyors of the
arts to walk freely while they shop, dine, and enjoy the array of
entertainment provided free of charge; and

WHEREAS, Attendees can also enjoy a complimentary quilt show at the
Remsen Arts Center or navigate through the Corn Maze located at The
Remsen Depot; and

WHEREAS, Over the past 45 years, the Remsen Barn Festival of the
Arts has demonstrated an unrelenting commitment to providing artistic
and cultural enrichment, as well as entertainment to its community, and
as a result, has brought pride and recognition to its local community
and to our great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 45th Annual Remsen Barn Festival of the Arts on
September 28, 2024; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Remsen Barn Festival of the Arts.
