HONORING Brett Grossman upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by HEARTS of
Port Washington on February 10, 2023
WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of good individuals such as Brett Grossman who uphold the
values of community life and who, through their great actions, epitomize
the best of humanity; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Brett
Grossman upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
HEARTS of Port Washington, to be celebrated at its Annual Red Party on
Friday, February 10, 2023, at Polish American Hall, Port Washington, New
York; and
WHEREAS, HEARTS (Helping Enrich the Arts) of Port Washington is an
independent, grassroots, not-for-profit community organization whose
mission is to add meaningful value to children's lives by supporting,
promoting, and enriching the arts in public schools and throughout the
Port Washington community; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong patron of and participant in the arts, Brett
Grossman became an avid supporter of HEARTS of Port Washington in 2015;
since this time, she has served as a member of the Grants Committee and
has been involved with many programmatic offerings developed by this
vital organization; and
WHEREAS, Brett Grossman joined the HEARTS Board of Directors in
2022, and currently serves as co-chair of the Grants Committee; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Brett Grossman, HEARTS funds
programming for all ages and abilities, and provides opportunities for
preschoolers at the Parent Resource Center through senior citizens at
the Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, Brett Grossman's love for the arts stems from her days
studying vocal performance and participating in musical theater
productions; thanks to the Community Synagogue Theater Company, she
recently found her way back to the stage after a 20-year hiatus, even
performing at last year's PortFest; and
WHEREAS, A 17-year resident of Port Washington, and a graduate of
both Barnard College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School,
Brett Grossman has been practicing law at Willkie Far & Gallagher LLP
for 16 years; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Marc, and their
two children, Kyle and Zach, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of
her life and rejoice in her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Brett Grossman has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Brett Grossman, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brett Grossman upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by HEARTS of Port Washington, and to wish her continued
success in all her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Brett Grossman.
