CONGRATULATING Hannah Casey upon the occasion of
receiving the distinguished Girl Scout Bronze Award,
the most prestigious of Junior Scouting honors
WHEREAS, Hannah Casey, through her diligence and rigorous efforts,
has achieved Girl Scout Junior's highest and most prestigious honor, the
Girl Scout Bronze Award; the Williston's, Albertson, Roslyn, Mineola
(W.A.R.M.) Girl Scout Association Award Ceremony will be held on
Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Chaminade High School's Activity Athletic
Center in Mineola, New York; and
WHEREAS, Hannah Casey is a member of Girl Scouts of America Troop
1859; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our nation's young people
the goals of building solid values of sisterhood and the importance of
working with others, stimulating both mind and body, instilling pride,
and encouraging community service and success; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has expanded the horizons of the countless
young women who have participated in the programs which have made Girl
Scouting an American and international institution; and
WHEREAS, The Girl Scout Bronze Award requires the Girl Scout Junior
to learn the leadership and planning skills necessary to follow through
on a project that makes a positive impact on her community; working
together toward this award demonstrates her commitment to helping
others, improving her community and the world, and becoming the best she
can be; and
WHEREAS, To earn the Bronze Award, Hannah Casey and her troop
members worked together to complete a Bronze Award community service
project which they planned, developed and executed to focus on pets in
the heat; and
WHEREAS, To achieve this goal, Hannah Casey and her friends
researched and created brochures and pamphlets, while holding a booth,
to assure that samples of protective footwear for pets could be used to
impress upon the public the dangers of asphalt on animal paws; and
WHEREAS, The Bronze Award symbolizes a Girl Scout Junior's
accomplishments in Girl Scouting and community activities as she matures
and works to better her life and the lives of others; it is tangible
evidence of Hannah Casey's high character and commitment to her
community, New York State, and our Nation; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young woman has been involved in Scouting
for years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has attained all of the
necessary achievements; and
WHEREAS, Hannah Casey is a credit to her family, her school, her
community, her State and her Nation, and no doubt her future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Hannah Casey upon the occasion of her designation
as recipient of the Girl Scout Bronze Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hannah Casey.
