HONORING Deena Giltz McCullough upon the occasion
of her designation as recipient of the 2023
Businessperson of the Year Award by the North
Country Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York, and whose purposeful endeavors as involved
members of the community serve to enhance the quality of life therein;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Deena Giltz McCullough upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2023 Businessperson of the Year Award by the North Country
Chamber of Commerce, which was celebrated at its 111th Annual Awards
Dinner, "A Winter Wonderland," on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the West
Side Ballroom in Plattsburgh, New York; and

WHEREAS, Deena Giltz McCullough is receiving this prestigious award
for her steadfast and unremitting commitment to her Plattsburgh, New
York, and North Country communities; she has distinguished herself as a
leading example of both excellence in business and in community support;
and

WHEREAS, As President and CEO of Northern Insuring Agency, Deena
Giltz McCullough has impeccably sustained a third-generation family
enterprise, leading it to new heights and building a successful
multi-generational team; and

WHEREAS, Most notably, through financial generosity, personal
engagement and leadership, Deena has continued the legacy of the Giltz
family in support of a wide array of community causes and organizations,
including the UVM Health Network and CVPH, SUNY Plattsburgh, Mountain
Lake PBS, the Strand Center for the Arts, and the Plattsburgh YMCA,
among others; and

WHEREAS, Deena Giltz McCullough exemplifies not only excellence in
leading a historic family enterprise to new heights, but also in
demonstrating the conviction that a strong business requires a strong
community, and that a strong community in turn requires strong support
from its business leaders; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefits of others which Deena Giltz McCullough has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Deena Giltz McCullough upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the 2023 Businessperson of the Year Award by the North
Country Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Deena Giltz McCullough.
