COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of The Potting
Shed Antiques

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of The Potting Shed Antiques of
Whitesboro, New York, to be celebrated on Saturday, September 24, 2022;
and

WHEREAS, Don and Nancy Hartman have been in the antique business
conducting house and estate sales since 1972; and

WHEREAS, The couple has a wide array of inventory and interests such
as collectibles like coins, pottery, glass, stoneware, jewelry, and
furniture; having been collectors of antiques for numerous decades, Don
and Nancy Hartman have a keen eye for treasures and have seen many
trends come and go over the years; and

WHEREAS, With their proven business leadership abilities and their
steadfast dedication to their community, The Potting Shed Antiques was
recently voted as the number one antiques shop by the Utica Observer
Dispatch's Reader's Choice Awards again for 2022; this marks the
impressive ninth time they have won this award since the category was
added 10 years ago; and

WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history spanning five decades, The
Potting Shed Antiques has demonstrated continuous service to the
residents and communities of the greater Utica and Rome area; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business, its contributions to the local
and state economies, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of
life in its community, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy
the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of The Potting Shed Antiques; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Potting Shed Antiques of Whitesboro, New York.
