HONORING Su Chen upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a 2023 Women-N-Motion
Empowerment Award by the Young, Gifted and Black
Entrepreneurial Awards Program
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community and their profession; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Su Chen upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a 2023
Women-N-Motion Empowerment Award by the Young, Gifted and Black
Entrepreneurial Awards Program to be celebrated at its Awards Brunch on
Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Simpson Restaurant and Bar, Brooklyn, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Founded by Carl O. Gray, the Young, Gifted & Black (YGB)
Entrepreneurial Awards Program recognizes individuals who continue to
reach levels of great success through hard work and determination,
proving to be inspiring role models to their community and peers; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, in conjunction with the observance of Women's
History Month, this auspicious occasion features several outstanding
women who are leaders, motivators, business professionals, innovators
and entrepreneurs; and
WHEREAS, Su Chen has more than 25 years as an entrepreneur, and her
experiences have afforded her with a well-rounded mind-set and skill
set; she has a keen eye for design and vast knowledge of networking,
organizational development, decision-making, follow-through, and
advanced problem-solving skills; and
WHEREAS, This extraordinary woman is also known as a
master-networker and a valuable connector in the region and is highly
sought out for her ability to make a positive contribution amongst her
colleagues, associates, peers, friends, and family; and
WHEREAS, Su Chen began her illustrious career in the field of
construction as a Local 3 Electrician before transitioning to Interior
Design and Real Estate; and
WHEREAS, As the current co-owner of TeamLogic IT, a national
information technology company located in Valley Stream, New York, Su
Chen has come full circle and back to her roots; with first-hand
knowledge from her time at Local 3, she is destined to make her mark in
the industry; and
WHEREAS, A renowned business strategist, Su Chen's credentials
include Accredited Staging Professional (ASP), Notary Public, Interior
Design Specialist with S.A.C. Interiors, and is a Licensed Real Estate
Broker with S.A.C. Properties; she has worked with homeowners and small
to large companies for many years; and
WHEREAS, Under her able leadership, TeamLogic IT was named MSP of
the Year and is a national provider of technology solutions; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to her
community, Su Chen gives tirelessly of her time, talent and resources to
several organizations; she is a member of the Long Island African
American Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Board of Directors of the
Urban League of Long Island; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend
individuals of outstanding character, who have shown initiative and
commitment toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and
acting as role models of leadership to be emulated by both peers and
young people; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Su Chen upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a
2023 Women-N-Motion Empowerment Award by the Young, Gifted and Black
Entrepreneurial Awards Program; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Su Chen.
