HONORING Ingrid Murray upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a 2023 Women-N-Motion
Empowerment Award by the Young, Gifted & Black
Entrepreneurial Awards Program
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community and their profession; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Ingrid Murray upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a
2023 Women-N-Motion Empowerment Award by the Young, Gifted & Black
Entrepreneurial Awards Program to be celebrated at its Awards Brunch on
Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Simpson Restaurant and Bar, Brooklyn, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Founded by Carl O. Gray, the Young, Gifted & Black (YGB)
Entrepreneurial Awards Program recognizes individuals who continue to
reach levels of great success through hard work and determination,
proving to be inspiring role models to their community and peers; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, in conjunction with the observance of Women's
History Month, this auspicious occasion features several outstanding
women who are leaders, motivators, business professionals, innovators
and entrepreneurs; and
WHEREAS, Jamaican American Ingrid Murray is a thriving multi
award-winning New York City-based serial entrepreneur, philanthropist,
speaker, mother, wife, and CEO of the renowned building maintenance
company, Prospect Cleaning Service Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Ingrid Murray, Prospect
Cleaning Service transformed into one of the leading businesses within
the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut areas; and
WHEREAS, With a 789 percent growth rate over the last three years,
in 2022 Prospect Cleaning Service landed among the top 20 percent on INC
5000's prestigious list of the fastest growing private companies in the
United States; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, in 2021,
Prospect Cleaning Service was awarded NYC Competitive Edges' Best Woman
Owned Business and Brooklyn's Best Janitorial Service Award in 2020;
furthermore, Ingrid Murray was recognized as a Building Brooklyn Award
nominee in 2018, as well as a Top Industry Female Executive, Brooklyn
Power Woman, and Power Professional; and
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to giving back, Ingrid Murray's charity
foundation, Elijah's Oil, organizes quarterly outreach in both New York
State and Jamaica with such community building initiatives as back to
school drives, Thanksgiving food giveaways, senior treat days, and an
annual week of kindness; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her amazing husband, four
beautiful children, and her adorable granddaughter, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her many
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Ingrid Murray's quest for success is ignited by her
constant will to dream ambitiously, inspire others, and help to
cultivate a winning mindset among those she encounters; her ultimate
goal is to make a positive contribution within her community, while
experiencing the best version of the American dream; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Ingrid Murray has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend
individuals of outstanding character, who have shown initiative and
commitment toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and
acting as role models of leadership to be emulated by both peers and
young people; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ingrid Murray upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
a 2023 Women-N-Motion Empowerment Award by the Young, Gifted & Black
Entrepreneurial Awards Program; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ingrid Murray.
