MEMORIALIZING Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim
May 14-20, 2023, as Family Physician Week in the
State of New York
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize
official weeks that are set aside to recognize certain professionals who
affect the lives of citizens of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
memorialize Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim May 14-20, 2023, as Family
Physician Week in the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, The annual observance of Family Physician Week provides an
opportunity for the people of the Empire State to recognize the vital
contributions of the family physicians who practice in communities large
and small throughout New York; and
WHEREAS, Board-certified family physicians, residents and medical
students are dedicated to the primary care of the family as a whole; and
WHEREAS, Family physicians are focused on improving the health and
well-being of patients and families; and
WHEREAS, It is appropriate for the citizens of New York State to
recognize family physicians who truly exemplify the highest tradition of
the family doctor and the dedication, compassion and skill which are the
hallmarks of their profession; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim May 14-20, 2023, as Family
Physician Week in the State of New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Honorable Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of New
York.
