HONORING Ronald J. Wheelock upon the occasion of
his retirement after 24 years of distinguished
service to the Sauquoit Valley Central School
District

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Ronald J. Wheelock upon the occasion of his retirement after 24 years of
distinguished service to the Sauquoit Valley Central School District;
and

WHEREAS, For the past 24 years, Ronald J. Wheelock rendered
faithful, conscientious, and valuable service to the Sauquoit Valley
Central School District; and

WHEREAS, Ronald J. Wheelock is a graduate of Mount Markham Central
School District; he continued his extensive education at SUNY Cortland,
where he received a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Science in
Education degree with certifications in Physical Education and Health
Education, and his School District Administration Certificate; and

WHEREAS, Ronald J. Wheelock began his career with Sauquoit Valley
Central Schools in 1999, when he was hired as a Physical Education and
Health teacher, and Athletic Director; and

WHEREAS, In 2004, Ronald J. Wheelock assumed a new position as
Elementary Assistant Principal and Athletic Director; and

WHEREAS, Soon after, in 2004, he became the Middle School Principal,
serving the students proudly for five years; and

WHEREAS, Defining his illustrious career in the Sauquoit Valley
School District, Ronald J. Wheelock rose to the esteemed role of
Superintendent of Schools, the esteemed position from which he will
retire; and

WHEREAS, Ronald J. Wheelock, with great depth of service and
experience, has served on various committees and assumed leadership
roles, including time as the Regional Representative to the House of
Delegates; Legislative Committee Representative; Superintendents'
Representative to Middle School Principals' Group; Mentor for new School
Superintendents; Center State Conference Superintendent Representative;
Center State Conference League Treasurer; Center State Conference Awards
Coordinator; Section 3 Classification Committee Chairperson; Section 3
Athletic Council; and Section 3 Superintendent State Representative; and

WHEREAS, In his capacity as Superintendent, a role of which he
dutifully fulfilled for 14 years, Ronald J. Wheelock served with
loyalty, honor, and distinction; and


WHEREAS, In his official acts, Ronald J. Wheelock was governed by a
keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems;
and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his beloved wife, Kathy, and
two sons, Matthew, and Caleb, all of whom feel privileged to be a part
of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Sauquoit Valley Central School
District, Ronald J. Wheelock earned the admiration, esteem, and
affection of his colleagues; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ronald J. Wheelock upon the occasion of his retirement after 24
years of distinguished service to the Sauquoit Valley Central School
District; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ronald J. Wheelock.
