COMMEMORATING the 35th Anniversary of Loaves &
Fishes Hospitality Center

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
significant milestones in the distinguished histories of its esteemed
entities which stand to serve the well-being of the citizens of this
noble State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Loaves & Fishes Hospitality Center,
to be celebrated March of 2023; and

WHEREAS, Loaves & Fishes Hospitality Center operates throughout all
months of the year, serving lunches and dinners to members of the
Canastota, New York community who are in need; and

WHEREAS, The dedicated staff and volunteers of Loaves & Fishes
Hospitality Center have distributed thousands of meals since its opening
in March of 1988; and

WHEREAS, Donations of baked goods from TOPS Market, milk from
Queensboro Dairy in Canastota, Food Bank of CNY grants, support from
Canastota Area Association of Churches, Canastota Community Chest,
Canastota Lions Club, American Legion Auxiliary, local businesses, and
individual contributions help make this a successful program for those
who rely on its services; and

WHEREAS, Current dedicated volunteers include Archie Anderson, Linda
Baldwin, Carol Casler, Bev & Lyle Eddy, Barb Evans, Bob Lake, Bruce
Quackenbush, Claire VanEpps and Cindy Read, all of whom, along with many
others through the past 35 years, help prepare, serve, and clean up
after the meals, thusly contributing to the esteemed successes which
Loaves & Fishes Hospitality Center enjoys today; and

WHEREAS, Loaves & Fishes Hospitality Center of Canastota has a long
and distinguished history of providing food to those in need; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Loaves & Fishes Hospitality Center;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Loaves & Fishes Hospitality Center in Canastota, New
York.
