COMMENDING Denise Doucette upon the occasion of
her retirement after 34 years of distinguished
service to the State of New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Denise Doucette upon the occasion of her retirement after 34
years of distinguished service to the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, The daughter of Barb and Ray Doucette, Denise grew up in a
military family and moved to Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, New York,
in September of 1979, when she was a sophomore in high school; 10 years
later, she moved to Westmoreland, New York, where she has lived ever
since; and

WHEREAS, Denise Doucette began her long and distinguished career
with the State of New York on April 20, 1989, as a keyboard specialist
at the Central New York Developmental Disabilities Services Office in
Rome, New York; and

WHEREAS, In 2004, Denise Doucette began working with the New York
State Office of General Services (OGS), and through the years, has
served in various capacities including secretary at the Senator Hughes
State Office Building in Syracuse, New York, and Public Building Manager
1, 2, and 3 at the Utica State Office Building; and

WHEREAS, Denise Doucette was promoted to the title of Upstate
Regional Supervisor in 2021, the position from which she will officially
retire; and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, Denise Doucette has overseen management
of four Upstate Regional Facilities, the Binghamton State Office
Building, Homer Folks Facility in Oneonta, Oriskany Facility and the
Utica State Office Building; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her partner, Lou Schriver;
one son, Rich (Kristen); two daughters, Rebecca (Mark) and Danielle; and
two grandchildren, Reed and Elena, all of all of whom feel privileged to
be a part of her life and rejoice in her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, For the past 34 years, Denise Doucette rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the State of New York, serving
with loyalty, honor and distinction; and

WHEREAS, In her official acts, Denise Doucette was governed by a
keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems;
and

WHEREAS, During her tenure with the State of New York, Denise
Doucette earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate Denise Doucette upon the occasion of her retirement after 34
years of distinguished service to the State of New York, and to wish her
well in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Denise Doucette.
