HONORING Daniel C. Thalmann posthumously upon the
occasion of his induction into the Liberty Central
School District Wall of Fame on June 23, 2023

WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who,
through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better
the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive
impact on the lives of its residents; Daniel C. Thalmann was one such
individual; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Daniel C.
Thalmann posthumously upon the occasion of his induction into the
Liberty Central School District Wall of Fame, to be celebrated with a
reception and ceremony on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Liberty High School
in Liberty, New York; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2011, the Liberty Central School District Wall
of Fame provides a wonderful opportunity to honor and celebrate the
outstanding accomplishments of graduates or attendees who have walked
the halls of Liberty's schools; and

WHEREAS, A 1981 graduate of Liberty High School, Daniel C. Thalmann
is being posthumously honored for the lasting and outstanding
contributions he made to society throughout his distinguished life and
career; and

WHEREAS, Daniel C. Thalmann was born in Liberty, and truly dedicated
his life to his beloved community; and

WHEREAS, After graduating, Daniel C. Thalmann proudly served his
country as a member of the United States Coast Guard for three years;
upon the completion of his military service, he returned to Liberty and
opened his business, Thalmann's Service Center, in 1989, where he always
looked out for his customers and helped those in need; and

WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his
community, Daniel C. Thalmann gave tirelessly of his time and energies
to several local organizations, including the Elks Club, Lions Club,
Liberty Rotary Club, Boys & Girls Club, Liberty Cub Scout Pack 717, AYSO
Soccer, Little Leagues, Soap Box Derby and the Liberty Fire Department;
he was named a Paul Harris Fellow for his contributions to Rotary; and

WHEREAS, A truly selfless man, Daniel C. Thalmann put his family and
the Liberty community above all else; his death in 2022 left a hole in
the community felt by many; and

WHEREAS, Daniel C. Thalmann's infinite selflessness and benevolence
will shine on through his family's vivid and happy memories; his insight
and strength will forever serve as a beacon of love, light and hope to
the countless lives he touched; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Daniel C. Thalmann leaves behind a legacy which will long

endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
who were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man; he will
be deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Daniel C. Thalmann posthumously upon the occasion of his induction
into the Liberty Central School District Wall of Fame on June 23, 2023;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Daniel C. Thalmann.
