Assembly Resolution No. 2101

COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of New York
Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc.
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and organizations that contribute
substantially to their communities, thereby enhancing the well-being of
the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc.
(NYTB); and
WHEREAS, New York's thoroughbred breeding industry has a $5.3
billion annual economic impact on New York's economy, and benefits
counties across the State by generating hundreds of millions of dollars
in tax revenue; and
WHEREAS, The breeding and racing industries are responsible for the
majority of the New York equine industry's 42,400 full-time jobs; and
WHEREAS, NYTB's agricultural members aid in preserving 1.3 million
acres of precious farmland; and
WHEREAS, New York Thoroughbred Breeders is a membership organization
founded in 1974 in order to provide those individuals involved in the
New York breeding and racing industry with an organization dedicated to
the advancement of thoroughbred breeding and racing in New York State;
and
WHEREAS, NYTB is the official authorized representative of the
thoroughbred breeding industry in New York State and the unified voice
of thoroughbred breeders in the State of New York for purposes of
communicating the advantages and rewards of breeding thoroughbreds in
the State; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion of celebration and honor will
reflect on the valuable work done and progress made by NYTB over the
last five decades; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished history spanning 50 years, New York
Thoroughbred Breeders has conducted and coordinated activities with
breeding and racing associations, agencies, and industry partners; and
WHEREAS, The success of New York Thoroughbred Breeders is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its hardworking and dedicated staff,
members, and volunteers, all of whom are considered integral parts of
the success of the association; their involvement is, and always has
been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the racing industry, and aid in the development
of the breeding and racing industries in New York State in particular,
and the nation at large; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges New York Thoroughbred Breeders for its hard work and
countless contributions, as well as its vibrant role in improving the
quality of life in its community, fully confident that it will continue
to enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of The New York Thoroughbred Breeders,
Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc.
