CELEBRATING the life of Elias Atticus Giangrande,
beloved son, brother, grandson, boyfriend, captain,
scuba diver, and world traveler

WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who,
through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better
the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive
impact on the lives of its residents; Elias Atticus Giangrande was one
such individual; and

WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Elias Atticus Giangrande at 28
years old, noting the significance of his purposeful life and
accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Elias Atticus Giangrande of Manhattan, New York, died on
April 24, 2024, at the age of 28; and

WHEREAS, Born to Sheila and Gregory Giangrande on November 16, 1995,
in New York City, Elias Giangrande is the older brother to Gwyneth; and

WHEREAS, Elias Giangrande is the grandson to maternal grandmother
Marilyn Hvam Wolf Hultgren, grandfather James Walleen Hultgren and
paternal grandmother Judith Mandato; and

WHEREAS, Elias Giangrande was a loving boyfriend to Brielle
Middleton; and

WHEREAS, Elias Giangrande attended PS6 The Lillie Devereaux Blake
School, Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School, and Leysin American
School Belle Epoque Campus; and

WHEREAS, Elias Giangrande was a talented musician and vocalist as a
member of the music clubs throughout school playing the trumpet and
piano, and participating in theatre; and

WHEREAS, Elias Giangrande sought higher education at Tulane
University in New Orleans, Louisiana and explored his love for traveling
participating in Semester at Sea; he dedicated his time to sailing,
orphanages, and infrastructure from Africa to Maine, and building houses
and infrastructure in Fiji; and

WHEREAS, Elias Giangrande earned his 200-ton Captains License, was a
Master Scuba instructor with many specialties training other
instructors, and took a keen interest in marine conservation; and

WHEREAS, Elias Giangrande began a company called Dream Week that
will continue his legacy of charity annually in his honor; and

WHEREAS, Elias Giangrande cared deeply for animals and birds; he was
a deeply compassionate individual always lending a helping hand to
friends and strangers alike; and

WHEREAS, Armed with an adventurous spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Elias Atticus Giangrande leaves behind a legacy which will
long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory
to all who were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man;
he will be deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
celebrate the life of Elias Atticus Giangrande, and to express its
deepest condolences to his family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Elias Atticus Giangrande.
