CONGRATULATING the Maine-Endwell High School Boys
Varsity Baseball Team upon the occasion of capturing
the 2024 NYSPHSAA Section IV Class A Boys Baseball
Championship

WHEREAS, The tradition of athletic success at Maine-Endwell High
School has continued with the Boys Varsity Baseball Team's victory in
the NYSPHSAA Section IV Class A Championship game, defeating Owego Free
Academy with a score of 8-6, at Maine-Endwell High School in Endwell,
New York, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, and capturing the team's Class A
Championship title; and

WHEREAS, A five-run fourth inning helped the Spartans triumph in the
deciding game of the Section IV Class A Baseball Tournament; the River
Hawks entered the inning with a 3-1 advantage; however, a two-run
double, followed by a two-run single, gave Maine-Endwell a 4-3 lead over
Owego; and

WHEREAS, The Spartans scored two more runs in the sixth inning; the
River Hawks, scored three runs in the seventh inning before the Spartans
recorded a title-clinching strikeout with the bases loaded; and

WHEREAS, The Spartans were loyally and enthusiastically supported by
family, fans, friends, and the community; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body congratulates the members of the
Maine-Endwell High School Boys Varsity Baseball Team: Stratos Anastos,
Adam DeSantis, Jacob Durgala, Liam Hadfield, Jack Hennessey, Michael
Jamba, Gage Kelly, Cooper Klinger, Mason Little, Santino Michitti,
Preston Nezelek, Austyn Nyschot, Braden Palmer, Max Policare, Cade
Raleigh, Dominic Randesi, Joe Robillard, Matthew Rombold, Logan Vazquez,
and Grady Wilson; Head Coach, Matt Raleigh; Athletics Director, Kevin
Hores; and Assistant, Shelly Goldstone, on their outstanding season and
overall team record; and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition instills the values of teamwork,
sportsmanship, pride, and accomplishment; Head Coach, Matt Raleigh,
Athletics Director, Kevin Hores, Assistant, Shelly Goldstone, and all of
the outstanding athletes have clearly made a contribution to the spirit
of excellence that is a tradition at Maine-Endwell High School; and

WHEREAS, These competitors have made their mark through a
combination of scoring power and outstanding team play; let us celebrate
this championship season; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pauses in its deliberations to
congratulate and honor the Maine-Endwell High School Boys Varsity
Baseball Team upon the occasion of capturing the 2024 NYSPHSAA Section
IV Class A Boys Baseball Championship; winning a state championship is
an enormous achievement, made possible this season through the team's
exceptional skill, persistence, teamwork, and energy delivered in the
spirit of the best collegiate, Olympic, and professional baseball
championship teams; and be it further


RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members, coaches, and administrators of the
Maine-Endwell High School Boys Varsity Baseball Team.
