COMMENDING the Longwood Central School District
upon the occasion of its designation as a recipient
of the 2022 Award of Excellence by the New York
State School Music Association

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize
those outstanding school districts who dedicate their time, energy, and
resources to music education and the refinement of the arts; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Longwood Central School District upon the occasion of its
designation as a recipient of the 2022 Award of Excellence by the New
York State School Music Association (NYSSMA); and

WHEREAS, This impressive achievement of the Longwood Central School
District music program is in direct correlation to the unwavering
attention and efforts of the dedicated educators within the district:
Dr. John Gallagher, Melissa Pilocane, Jared Nevola, Alyssa Browning,
Heather Lora, Kimberly Bums, David Burt, Ashley Malvagno, Brendan
Sparks, Adam Wilbur, Matthew Zebrowski, Brittney Hassett, Audrey
Kobel-Drake, Molly Schaefer, Christopher Tunney, Lauren Zagarello,
DawnMarie Conti, Sharon Fazio, Jennifer Geraci, Allyson Greenstein, Lia
Maniaci, Victoria Saladino, Jackie Steffens, Dr. Cynthia Rodgers,
Kristen Freriks, and Barbara Morton; and

WHEREAS, The administrators of the Longwood Central School District
are committed to actively promoting and nurturing a comprehensive music
program for all the students of the district; and

WHEREAS, Those same administrators have been supportive, actively
encouraging music program staff to devote their time and energy to
developing the talents of their students; and

WHEREAS, The musicians work hard at their music rehearsals,
classroom assignments and practice sessions, fully aware that the amount
of time and energy they are willing to expend directly affects the
quality of their music; and

WHEREAS, Talent, dedication, and countless hours of practice have
made the Longwood Central School District suitable for this prestigious
accolade; and

WHEREAS, The Longwood student musicians, along with their parents
and teachers, can be justifiably proud of their musical achievements;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Longwood Central School District upon the occasion of its
designation as a recipient of the 2022 Award of Excellence by the New
York State School Music Association; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Longwood Central School District.
