HONORING Joyce Eggler Teed upon the occasion of
her induction into the Liberty Central School
District Wall of Fame on June 23, 2023

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
distinguished careers and dedicated community service of esteemed
residents of this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Joyce Eggler Teed upon the occasion of her induction into the Liberty
Central School District Wall of Fame, to be celebrated with a reception
and ceremony on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Liberty High School in
Liberty, New York; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2011, the Liberty Central School District Wall
of Fame provides a wonderful opportunity to honor and celebrate the
outstanding accomplishments of graduates or attendees who have walked
the halls of Liberty's schools; and

WHEREAS, A 1958 graduate of Liberty High School, Joyce Teed is being
honored for the lasting and outstanding contributions she has made to
society throughout her distinguished life and career; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Teed's commitment to the community and youth began
when she was hired to work in Liberty Central School District in 1967,
during which time her extraordinary work ethic and creativity led to her
accruing many responsibilities; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious tenure, Joyce Teed assisted in
the establishment of many systems and processes which were instrumental
in helping the school run efficiently; as computer technology emerged,
she worked to learn this technology and eventually became the go-to
person if there was a problem with the equipment or programs; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Teed held many roles within Liberty Central School
District, including secretary at White Sulphur Springs Elementary
School, followed by the Middle School, where she became a mentor,
impacting the lives of countless students; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, she served as substitute coordinator and
school tax collector, as well as a member of both the Liberty PTA and
School Board; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Teed was a star athlete who saw the need to provide
various opportunities for girls and young women in the community; she
was a co-founder of a weekly girls softball team and chartered a 4-H
Group; and

WHEREAS, A woman of indomitable faith and dedication, Joyce Teed was
also actively involved in her church as well as various municipal and
community boards; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Teed's cheery disposition, ability to mediate
difficult situations, and willingness to volunteer have left a lasting
impact on Liberty Central School District and the community-at-large;
her compassion, insight, and leadership will continue to shape and
inspire generations to come; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Joyce Teed has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Joyce Teed, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Joyce Eggler Teed upon the occasion of her induction into the
Liberty Central School District Wall of Fame, and to wish her continued
success in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Joyce Eggler Teed.
