HONORING The Clarence Central School District's
Family Support Center upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the Organization of the
Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce on
March 9, 2023
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those distinguished citizens who would devote their life's work
and purpose to community service, contributing to the welfare of the
citizens of their communities and this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
The Clarence Central School District's Family Support Center upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the Organization of the Year
Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its 50th
Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Samuel's Grande
Manor in Clarence, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Clarence Central School District's Family Support
Center is receiving this prestigious award for its steadfast and
unremitting commitment to the beloved community of Clarence; and
WHEREAS, The Family Support Center is focused on creating direct,
school-based, and community-based support by developing connections
between families and students, schools, community members, and
community-based agencies and organizations; the primary goal of the
Center is to enhance the physical, mental, social, and emotional health
of individuals and in its community; and
WHEREAS, Resources which the Family Support Center provides include
connections to basic needs such as food and clothing, mental health
counseling, educational and enrichment opportunities, as well as being a
safe space for individuals to come when they are in need; and
WHEREAS, In its fifth year of operation, the Family Support Center
is comprised of the following staff: Evan Vahratian, Coordinator; Penny
Glena, Social Worker; and Joy Davey, Secretary Clerk; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor The Clarence Central School District's Family Support Center upon
the occasion of its designation as recipient of the Organization of the
Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Clarence Central School District's Family Support
Center.
